Genre Intensive: Poetry and Hybrid Forms

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
In the first part of this intensive, Bea will talk about the craft of poetry, focusing on one or two poets, as examples with an emphasis on building impact to the whole. The second part of the workshop will engage in re-visiting issues in student work and beginning revision in light of the methods discussed from the craft samples. We will write towards the next version in the workshop and will end by reading from our next versions and discussing the changes made together. Please submit no more than three poems, no longer than 2 pages each, that you feel need opening up or re-structuring in some way and bring copies of the same work to the workshop. Although you need not submit in order to attend the session, you must bring a poem with you that you would like to work on. The submission guidelines will be announced again at the Opening Session. (3 hours)
